Annette Funicello's dancing partner was discovered in Fullerton California by Walt Disney at just thirteen years old. Funicello was, much to the annoyance of the other Mickey Mouse Club stars, joined the cast after the first season had ended and didn't have to audition. Disney was right as Funicello became The Mickey Mouse Club's top performer, and was appeared in Adventures in Dairyland, her narrative.
